I m gonna start this off by saying that I loved this book Now that that s out of the way let s review this book A loud crash brings me upright I leap to my feet and race for the door So that s how you get a message out of a battleThat s when I knew I was going to love Thala She is stubborn brave and she doesn t back down without a fight She s not afraid to speak her mind but at the same time she s going to tell a little lie if she needs to I love how close Thala and Jaes are They tease each other every chance they get but they also have each other back when needed And for a ten year old Jaes has a lot of courageI could feel how bad Thala wanted to know about her family and be involved into what was going on So I wasn t surprised at all when she decided to go with Prastion Bastion As for Thala s Uncle i didn t really know what to think of him I knew he wasn t a bad guy he was just a man who lost a lot of people he loved which resulted in him being closed offOne of the things i loved was how the story started We discovered Thala s world while the story was unfolding That way the first couple chapters weren t as boring as they can sometimes be in other books even though the author sometimes needs to explaindescribe the world the story is set inWhat do humans see when they look at the ocean Some kind of watery lid A surface of rippling grey changing with the day s light transformed by a breeze They don t know how shallow that seemsOverall I really enjoyed this book I ll probably re read it in a couple months My only complain would be that i wished it was a little bit longer But at the same tim the length was perfect for the pace of the storyAnd I ll definitely read other books from this author Book received for free through Goodreads First Reads
