I loved this book The book is written as a poem and gives a brief introduction to different influential African Americans At the back of the book there is detail on each person in case students want to learn about them The illustrations on each page is done by a different illustrator and teaches the theme of teamwork All the illustrators had to work together for one goal which is bring the text to life just like how all the people mentioned worked towards one goal so that children today can soar There is also additional information on the illustrators at the back of the book In the classroom this book can be used to teach students about teamwork History is made up of many people working together for a cause Teachers can have students pick a person from the book and look up additional information about their character Teachers can challenge students to took at the characteristics that each person possessed and discuss why their virtue outweigh their vice
